i 've been using bet365 for a while but starting to realize their odds are pretty poor compared to others. been reading about pinnacle having better odds and asian bookmakers being even better. for ones bet football lot, where do you actually get the best value? is the difference significant enough to bother switching?
mainly bet premier league and champions league. stakes round £50-200 per match

pinnacle has best odds for sharp bettors but they'll limit you eventually if you win consistently. bet365 will limit you even faster.
asian books generally have best combination of odds and limits but harder to access from uk

So what's the actual difference in odds tho? explain like for dummies
The difference is in the bookmaker margin (overround)
  • Bet365's margin: 5-7% on major football markets (exmple: Man City vs Arsenal might be 1.85 / 3.60 / 4.20)
  • Pinnacle's margin: 2-3% on major football markets (same match might be 1.92 / 3.75 / 4.50)
  • Asian books' margin: 2-4% depending on market (similar to Pinnacle or sometimes even better)
Over long term, that 3-4% margin difference compounds significantly. On £1000 total bets, you're potentially saving £30-40 in margin alone

pinnacle sounds good until they limit you to like £5 max bet. then whats the point having better odds if you cant even bet proper amounts huh??

@chapman pinnacle actually doesn't limit as aggressively as recreational books. they're known for accepting sharp action. that's their whole business model. bet365 will cut you after few winning weeks. pinnacle might reduce limits eventually but nowhere near as fast

the real question is can you actually access asian books from uk easily? heard you need agents or vpn..
almost @B00__/ **/ in fact some asian books accept uk customers directly (sbobet does for instance). others require betting agents which adds complexity and trust issues. so for most uk bettors pinnacle is practical middle ground - better odds than bet365, accessible without agents, reasonable limits

that margin breakdown is really helpful thanks

ok so pinnacle accepts winning players better than bet365? thats big difference if true

pinnacle's whole thing is they balance their books through market movement not by limiting winners. they want sharp action to help set accurate lines. bet365 just wants recreational punters who lose long term. soon as you show competence they cut your limits.
i'd say completely different business models

I've been using Pinnacle for about 8 months after getting limited at Bet365. The odds difference is noticeable - probably getting 3-5% better value on average. Haven't been limited yet at Pinnacle despite being up modestly. At Bet365 I was limited within 2 months of showing profit.

That's how math works. Of course if you bet casually it's not that much still if you're serious bettor it feels real. But anyway profit is profit...

my bf just uses bet365 because the app is easier. i showed him this and he said better odds dont matter if you're losing anyway lol

Fair enough, still with better odds you'll last longer. anyway bet365 app is convenient and thats worth something yea

There's middle ground here
For someone betting small amounts (£5-10) occasionally, Bet365 convenience probably worth the worse odds
For someone betting £50-200 regularly, switching to Pinnacle is no-brainer. The margin difference becomes significant at that volume
Asian books are next level but require more setup - agents, unfamiliar interfaces, trust issues. Pinnacle is good compromise for most bettors.

yea seems worth the switch. either better odds or no limit play is a good raeson to move on it's own

does pinnacle have same markets as bet365? like all the player props and corner bets and stuff
