Offshore sites pulling out of US

same thing happening in ireland
used to play on loads of different sites but now most block irish ips entirely. left with boring local bookies with crap odds
regulators think they're protecting us but really just limiting our choices
but dont you think having actual oversight is worth slightly worse odds?

like knowing your money is protected if something goes wrong seems more important than getting extra few percentage points on returns

depends what ur betting hun. if your putting down £20 occasional bets then sure, go regulated. but if your serious about making money you need access to proper markets
offshore books had games and odds you just cant get anywhere else. thats disappearing fast

easy to say... some of us actually know what were doing and these regulatory changes are destroying legitimate opportunities
need to find new platforms asap before all the good ones disappear
not this crap again 🤦‍♂️ depending on gambling for income = recipe for disaster
regulation protecting you from yourself whether you realize it or not

find legitimate job before you lose everything

all this shite is confusing as hell

just wanted to try some sports betting but now im reading about vpns and offshore sites and regulatory crackdowns. should i just stick to legal options like draftkings? seems way less complicated

@ak47 absolutely, stick to regulated options for now. The offshore market is for experienced players who understand the risks and need specific features not available through licensed operators.
DraftKings, FanDuel, etc provide perfectly adequate betting opportunities with proper consumer protections.

@ak47 look bill_collins is right for most people
But if you get serious about betting you'll eventually hit the limitations of regulated books. When that happens, research carefully and start small with any offshore platform.
The landscape is changing fast so what works today might not work tomorrow

market fragmentation creating new inefficiencies as liquidity pools separate

professional players may benefit from arbitrage opportunities between regulated and offshore markets

however access barriers increasing transaction costs and reducing overall profitability

Long-term this consolidation benefits the industry even if short-term it's painful for some players.
Legitimate operators will expand offerings to capture displaced offshore market share. We'll see better odds and more diverse betting options on regulated platforms.
The wild west phase of online gambling is ending. Professional standards are emerging.

maybe your right about long term benefits. still annoying watching good platforms disappear though. some of those offshore sites had features the regulated ones will probably never offer. guess we'll adapt like always. just wish the transition was smoother

whatever happens crypto will find a way around this stuff. governments always playing catchup to technology. new solutions will emerge

might take some time but decentralized betting is the future anyway

@Timmy Technology solutions exist but regulatory enforcement has real-world consequences.
Account seizures, payment processor blocks, tax reporting requirements - these affect players regardless of how advanced the underlying technology becomes.
Better to work within legal frameworks than risk serious legal issues.

It's clearly a complex situation with no easy answers.
Going to diversify across both regulated and remaining offshore options while I still can. Hedge against further restrictions. Will keep testing withdrawal speeds and update the community on any major changes.
