Odds kept drifting while i was still placing so I ended up with a much better price. Anyone use this on purpose?

odds movement is information. a market drifting on your selection means nobody's disagreeing with you at the current price. a market shortening against you means someone knows something you don't. accept higher only effectively filters so you only participate when the information flow favors your position. not a bad heuristic as defaults go

@morgan_c that reframes it completely drift wasn't just a lucky accident, it was the market telling me nobody had a reason to dispute the horse at that price. Which it clearly was since it held on next time i'll be watching the direction of movement a bit more consciously rather than just being annoyed the number changed

honestly i read all this and my strategy is still just bet on the team i think will win and hope for the best. been doing it for years and it works out roughly as well as any system tbh

correct. pinnacle moves first. if their line moves against you, you are on the wrong side 👍

soo does this setting apply to casino games as well or is it only for sports?

sports and racing only Newbie. casino games have a fixed house edge in the game math - there's no live odds movement between starting a spin and it resolving. completely different mechanism

this made me realise i've been doing live betting completely wrong for years. i've mainly just been watching the games

honestly thats not the worst approach mate. betting on games you're watching just means you end up arguing with your own bets. half the time on a saturday im hoping a team i backed doesn't score because i threw a live bet on the other side when they went behind

wonder if anyone knows weather pinnacle does in-play betting on american football or is it only pre-match. keep getting conflicting info
