Michigan just sent 33 letters and one of them went to a site i use

Since nobody has said it and this thread is full of people about to open accounts somewhere new. Whatever you pick, do the verification on day one, before you have anything worth taking out. Not after. Every bad story in this forum starts with someone who waited.

And ignore any site that calls itself KYC free. I have never met one that paid a serious win without asking for ID eventually. They don't ask at the door, they ask at the exit, and that is the worst possible time to find out your name doesn't match your card.

right, i've calmed down and read the thing properly instead of reacting to my own site being on a list. bit that actually matters for this thread isn't the 33 names. its that mgcb did 45 in april and 33 now, and the release points at industry research showing casino players moving toward the illegal sites rather than away. so enforcement is going up and so is the traffic its aimed at. both at once. that tells you the letters aren't working as a deterrent on players, only on operators who care about one state and for anyone about to ask me for a replacement for mbit, im not giving one. im going to go and actually look first, which is what i should have been doing before i spent two years telling people it was the best

That's more honest than most of this forum manages. Though you were right about the live tables and a letter from Michigan doesn't change that.

regional thing deserves its own post because half this thread is americans and half isn''t, and the answer is completely different depending which
from australia the good ones are available and the problem is which ones are worth it. from a restricted us state the available list IS the shortlist and quality is whatever survives. from the uk you have loads of licensed choice and the product is cut down. spain as of today has to verify your card belongs to you before anything moves
same question, four different answers, and people in here keep recommending across borders like its one market

this is the most useful thing anyone has said and its also why im getting nowhere. i've had four recommendations in this thread and two of them don't work from my state at all

Then narrow it yourself and ask a smaller question, because the one you asked cannot be answered by anybody here.
Post your state, your games, your average stake and whether you will use a VPN. Those four things cut the list to about three names and then we can argue about those three usefully instead of arguing about the whole industry.

Because it is the same argument underneath, and I will put it as plainly as I can since there is a genuine question buried in forty posts of preference. Everything anyone wants from a casino splits into things you can check before you deposit and things you cannot.

Games, bonus terms, wagering multiples, limits, payment options, what the footer says about the licence. All checkable in twenty minutes.

Whether they pay a large win without a fight, whether the account survives a change of ownership, whether anyone answers when it goes wrong. None of that is checkable and all of it is what you are actually choosing. A licence does not guarantee the second list. It gives you somebody to complain to about it. That is a smaller thing than regulated players claim and a much larger thing than offshore players admit.

That is a fair criticism of me specifically and I will take it.

I have never deposited anywhere, so I have no site to name and no business naming one. What I do have is two years of reading complaint threads, and the thing I would tell anyone is that the sites that end up with the worst reputations rarely started out looking bad. They looked exactly like the good ones, right up until an ownership change or a bad quarter.

So I cannot tell you where to play. I can tell you not to treat today's reputation as a forecast.

right. collected everything useful from this and ill be straight about where it leaves me
checkable stuff ill check. doing verification day one, reading the footer, finding out who owns what, asking about the vip track before i deposit instead of after. all good advice and i wouldn't have had half of it on my own
the part nobody solved is the part i asked about. good and still there in a year. three people told me that cant be answered and they're right

so im going to pick the one with the longest history and the most resolved complaints and accept that its a guess with better inputs than it was this morning. which is not nothing but its not an answer either
