How much do you tip dealers when you win big?

omg yall are so cheap 😭
like if you cant afford to tip dont play at tables?? dealers work hard and deserve to get paid bb i always tip at least 10% of any win over $100. on the other hand online tipping thing is weird ngl like are they even real people or just videos on loop lmaooo

if you cant afford to pay your staff proper wages dont run a casino whole point is casinos make massive profits they can afford to pay decent salaries without expecting customers to subsidize
calling people cheap for not wanting to pay extra on top of house edge is fucked up

easy to talk about tipping when youre winning most of us are down overall and scraping together money just to play. if i ever hit big win maybe ill tip but been playing for years and never had session worth tipping over

@chapman i actually agree system is broken but dealers didnt create it taking it out on them by not tipping in us casinos just hurts wrong people. casino corporations arent going to change wage structure unless forced by regulation. tipping in us is basically mandatory cost of playing live games whether we like it or not
if you dont want to participate in that system you have other options like online or slots i think

understand your point foxy but its still crazy system. glad we got proper minimum wage here dealers get paid fairly without relying on generosity of gamblers who are already losing money i say

and what happens if you dont tip in usa they kick you out? seems like optional thing and should stay optional for sure

they wont kick you out but youll get dirty looks from dealers and other players some dealers will give you worse service or deal faster to get rid of you. not official policy but definitely happens american tipping culture has tons of unwritten rules like this

reading all this makes me think both markets end up with similar total compensation but us model creates uncertainty and customer friction while uk model provides stability. so us system benefits casino operators by shifting wage costs onto customers

so were subsidizing casino payroll while they pocket billions makes sense why they love this system lmao
still gonna tip cause i aint tryna be that guy everyone hates at table lol

coming back to the online casino tipping thing someone mentioned earlier do those tips actually reach the dealers or does the casino company keep them? feels like that should be disclosed if theyre asking for tips right

@nataly.k from what ive seen most live dealer providers pool tips and distribute across dealers working that shift so your tip doesnt go directly to "your" dealer. evolution gaming operates major studios in latvia romania and georgia where base wages are around €1200-1500/month tips can add maybe 20-30% on top
thats prob why you see so many studios in eastern europe much lower labor costs than having them in us or uk

so when you tip online it goes into pool split between all dealers not the specific person you played with?? that removes any incentive to tip honestly. at least at regular casino you know your tip goes to person who dealt your cards

There’s also a regulatory angle worth noting. In the UK, tips are treated as taxable income with proper documentation requirements. The USA has similar rules, but enforcement and compliance vary significantly. This creates a kind of informal economy within USA casinos where real dealer earnings can differ from what’s officially reported, which makes it harder to judge whether the tipping model genuinely benefits workers or mainly the operators

In some asian countries like Japan tipping can be unusual or even inappropriate in service contexts while places like Philippines or Macau have different expectations entirely. No universal standard which makes gambling confusing for travelers
