right so im fuming..£50 bonus, 10x wagering, £500 through. did it properly, kept every spin at 40p because max bet was a quid, took me four days. ended up at £612
go to withdraw and its £150. max cashout is 3x the bonus. thats it thats all youre getting

that was in the terms. i know that now. it was in the terms

Unfortunately the cap is legal and it's disclosed, so there's nothing to complain to anyone about, which I appreciate isn't what you want to hear.

What happened to you is the predictable consequence of the January rules. The Commission capped the wagering multiplier at 10x. It did not cap maximum cashout, game weighting, maximum bet during wagering, or expiry windows. So the four levers that were always there are now carrying the weight that the wagering requirement used to carry.

Before January a £50 bonus at 40x meant £2,000 of turnover, and the operator's protection was that almost nobody finished. Now you finish. So the protection moved to the exit.

so the rule that was supposed to help players made bonuses worse. shocking. absolutely nobody could have predicted this
every single time. they announce something to protect us and six months later were worse off than before and the same people are back on telly explaining how its a win for consumers

That's not what I said. He got £150 out of a £50 bonus. Under the old rules he would have been three quarters of the way through £2,000 of turnover and still holding bonus funds he'd never convert.

The offer got worse relative to what it looked like. It got better relative to what it actually was.

convenient framing that. by that logic they could cap the cashout at a fiver and you"d still call it an improvement because the wagering is lower

oh well cashout cap is the first thing i look for now, before the wagering number. learned that the hard way in feb

sorry @sufferinsilence, £612 down to £150 is horrible however legal it is

the point is you can now finish. thats not nothing. before january the maths on a 40x meant most people never got near the end.
but the max bet clause is the one that worries me far more than the cashout cap, and it's worth knowing why. the cap costs you money you never had. a max bet breach costs you money you did have.
there's a documented case on askgamblers, a norwegian player at BETNINJA. deposited €150, built it to €3,157 playing blackjack, went to withdraw. the whole €3,157 was removed for a bonus terms breach. the €5 max bet. and the reason he breached it is that the software let him. it doesn't block the bet, it doesn't warn you, it takes the stake and then the rule shows up when you try to leave
casino guru's got them at 4.4 out of 10 and there are documented losses on that pattern from €176 up to about €10,000

thats fucking insane tho. so the site can just let you break it
surely thats not allowed here tho? like a uk site cant do that can it

Careful with the comparison. BetNinja holds an Anjouan licence, not a UKGC one, and the two situations aren't equivalent.
On a UKGC site the Commission has been explicit that terms allowing an operator to void winnings at their own discretion are likely unenforceable under consumer law, and you have a complaints route with a deadline attached. Eight weeks, or a deadlock letter, and then it goes to ADR whether the operator likes it or not.

That doesn't mean nobody tries it here. It means when they do, you have somewhere to go. On an Anjouan site you have the operator's goodwill and that's the whole list.

fair, that's a proper distinction and i skipped over it
the software behavior is what i'd still flag though. real time enforcement of a max bet is trivial to build. every operator that doesn't build it has made a choice about that
