Do you think you're good at roulette because you're good at math?

I've only been to a casino a few times, and last week. While my friends were playing Blackjack, I noticed two guys at the roulette table betting big. They seemed to have between $1000 to $2500 in chips each, with even more on the table. They probably started with a lot of chips, but it looked like they doubled their count in just a few games.

So, I'm wondering, do you think they're doing some quick math in their heads to calculate the odds?
 
For me, playing roulette is all about being disciplined, doing some math in your head, and trusting your gut feelings, mostly because luck plays a big part.
If you struggle to control yourself or get upset easily, roulette might not be the game for you. It's not something you can just buy your way into winning. You've got to only bet when you're absolutely certain.
You might not win big, but you can reduce your chances of losing, in my opinion. Here's a bit about how I play.
