Spain is blocking withdrawals from the 28th until they check whose card it is

Ppractical question for everyone outside Spain is whether this spreads, and the honest answer is that it already has in pieces. Payment method in your own name is standard in terms and conditions almost everywhere already. It's difficult to answer definitively whether other regulators will make it law, but the operators mostly claim to do it voluntarily, so making it law costs them a verification project and nothing else.
That's usually the sort of rule that travels.

Agreed on it travelling, though the version that travels will probably be the Article 21 check rather than the transitional provision, and the transitional provision is the only truly nasty part of it.

Nobody copies another country's six month backlog. They copy the rule and write their own transition.

A debit card in your own name and money you already have. Which, read uncharitably, is a conspiracy. Read any other way it's just the list of things that were never a problem in the first place.

ok then i will do the verification tomorrow with the documents and i write here what happens, maybe is useful for other people from spain
while for the joint card i send the question in writing like sapit says. if they answer me something stupid i put it here also

thank you all, really. the spanish forums are only people insulting the government and nobody read the actual decree

One thing worth people knowing from the us side since were comparing. When the card bans came in here the thing that actually changed wasn't how i deposit, it was how fast i get paid
Debit and bank transfer both sit in a different processing lane to cards. I've been timing payouts for two years and the cards were never the slow part going out anyway, so losing them cost me a funding option and nothing else
@Arn0ld's list is real but half of it is stuff that only ever mattered on the way in

Useful distinction, and one the coverage never makes. Deposit friction and withdrawal friction get discussed as one thing and they're separate problems with separate causes.

Spain is a withdrawal problem. The US card bans are a deposit problem. Those got merged about twenty posts ago and most of the arguing since has been people on either side of that line talking past each other.

or u could use a site that doesnt do any of this. still waiting for someone to explain why thats worse than six months of queueing

It is almost the 28th and the most useful post here is still @Lilah's point from the top, so I'll repeat it as the last word from me.
Verify before the deadline, not after. The rule itself is unremarkable and most of you already satisfy it without knowing. The damage in Spain over the next six months won't come from the rule, it'll come from queue position.
Still nobody with a number on how many accounts are affected. If anyone sees one published, post it.

BR, Sapit
