used to love this slot but recently its been absolute murder. gone 800+ spins multiple times without bonus and when it does hit pays like 15x maybe 30x if lucky
feels like they changed something. anyone else noticing this or am i just on bad run? cant buy bonus here which makes it even worse

mate dog house has been dead for ages now. was good couple years back but now its just money pit
try hacksaw slots instead. wanted dead or a wild pays way better

Dog House Megaways has 96.55% RTP on the standard version, but many UK casinos now offer the 94% variant which significantly affects hit frequency and bonus potential. Check your casino's RTP settings - if they're running 94% that explains the dead spins. The variance profile hasn't changed but lower RTP creates longer dry periods between bonuses. 800 spins without bonus on a megaways is statistically possible but uncommon. Average is around 180-250 spins for this slot.

this is why i stick to hacksaw now. their slots seem more fair somehow. dog house was fun when it came out but meh feels completely different now

@bill_collins how do you check what rtp version casino is running? never knew there were different versions

@Peter33 most casinos don't advertise it clearly. You can usually find RTP in game info menu (click the i or ? icon of the slot). If it says 94.xx% instead of 96.xx% you're on the lower variant.
Some casinos are transparent about it, most aren't.

Pragmatic in general has been tightening up their older releases. Dog House, Sweet Bonanza original, Wolf Gold - all feel noticeably different than 2-3 years ago. They want you playing their newer releases like Sugar Rush 1000 or Samurai's Katana. Classic revenue optimization strategy. The math model is technically the same but combination of lower RTP variants + players pattern recognition makes them feel "dead."

oh cmon half the hacksaw games feel dead too when youre stuck spinning base game for hours

so what slots are actually decent right now? need something with better hit frequency. tired of 500+ spin droughts

@Scott1baird for UK players without bonus buy access:

Lower variance options:
  • - Book of 99 (99% RTP but usually banned for bonus)
  • - Starburst (boring but consistent)
  • - Most BGaming slots (97% RTP, decent hit frequency)
Medium variance:
  • - Gates of Olympus (bonus every 200-300 spins average)
  • - Big Bass Bonanza (classic, still pays)
Avoid high variance slots like San Quentin, Mental, Money Train 3 without bonus buy. You'll just burn through balance waiting for features.
