been using stake for about 2 years and honestly its gone proper downhill lately. used to be decent but now:
  • customer support takes literal days to respond
  • servers keep crashing especially during live games
  • withdrawal verifications getting rejected for no reason
  • lost uk license anyway so had to move to different version
anyone else fed up with them? used to think they were one of the better crypto sites but feels like they dont give a shit anymore. support used to be quick now i wait 5+ days for basic questions
losing £300 last week when server crashed during live blackjack was final straw. they gave me £20 "compensation" after 6 days of arguing

Used to be my go-to but quality dropped massively this year. The UK license thing was embarrassing - getting kicked out cos of some porn actress video? Shows how unprofessional theyve become. Their "instant" crypto withdrawals now take hours and support just copy paste responses. Moving my action to other sites tbh.

@m0r0n as an everton fan this whole thing is proper embarrassing club getting £10mil+ a year from them but now theyre basically promoting illegal gambling site to uk fans. FA should do something but they wont cos money talks
stake used to be alright but servers been dogshit for months. lost £500 when live dealer froze last month took 2 weeks to get £50 back 🤬

The technical infrastructure decline is concerning but not entirely surprising given the regulatory pressures they're facing globally. When operators lose major licenses, they often cut operational costs to maintain profitability margins.
The UK license revocation wasn't just about the advertising issue - there were underlying AML and social responsibility failures that culminated in a £316k fine in April 2023, followed by continued non-compliance issues.
From a business perspective, they're now operating a higher-risk model relying primarily on Curacao licensing, which has minimal consumer protections compared to UKGC standards. This explains the deteriorating customer service and withdrawal processing delays.
The white-label arrangement with TGP Europe was terminated as part of the UK exit, meaning they've had to rebuild certain operational processes from scratch. This transition period often results in service degradation.

For players, I'd recommend documenting all interactions and keeping detailed records of any technical failures during gameplay. The lack of robust regulatory oversight in their current jurisdictions makes dispute resolution much more difficult.

cheers for the breakdown explains why everything went to shit. damn i was wondering why withdrawal times doubled and support became useless

moved to bitstarz and rollbit after stake started acting up. much better experience tbh, support actually responds within hours not days.
stake had their moment but seems like they're coasting now. too many other good crypto sites to waste time with their bs

and @webzcas been looking at bitstarz actually. their withdrawal times decent? honestly might be time to move on from stake. used to defend them but hard to argue when servers crash every other day and support treats you like dirt

the server stability is what kills me lost £400 when there "provably fair" roulette system glitched mid-spin last month. took screenshots of everything but support said it was my internet connection lmao
never had issues until this year something definitely changed.. my roulette system was working perfectly then BOOM servers start crashing every time i get a good run going. coincidence? i think not

server issues are INSANE lately was up £2k in blackjack session yesterday then boom connection lost when i reconnected i was down £500 and they claimed the hands played normally
their "investigation" took 8 hours and concluded everything was fine complete joke!!!
stake used to be good now its just another scammy crypto site that steals your money when you winning. there support is braindead too probably just AI bots now cos same copy paste bullshit every time
idk why people still defend them when theres loads better sites out there.. BC.game n bitstarz never had these problems

Just to provide a bit of context here - the Stake situation illustrates the complexities of modern online gambling operations and the risks associated with white-label licensing arrangements.
When the UKGC revoked their license in February 2025, it wasn't an isolated incident. This followed a load of compliance failures dating back to 2023, including significant AML breaches and inadequate social responsibility measures. The adult content advertising issue was merely the final trigger for regulatory action.

The broader implications are worth understanding:

White-label operations: Stake operated in the UK through TGP Europe under a white-label arrangement. When this collapsed, they lost not just market access but also the operational infrastructure that TGP provided - customer service, payment processing, compliance monitoring, etc. This explains the service degradation many of you have experienced.

Regulatory arbitrage risks: Moving to Curacao-only licensing means operating under significantly weaker consumer protection frameworks. Curacao doesn't require operators to maintain segregated customer funds, has minimal dispute resolution mechanisms, and lacks the robust technical standards required by jurisdictions like the UK or Malta.

Football sponsorship complications: The Everton situation is particularly interesting from a regulatory perspective. The UKGC has written to three football clubs (including Everton) warning them about promoting unlicensed operators. Under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, clubs could face prosecution for "facilitating" unlicensed gambling if UK consumers can access Stake services through their promotion.

Technical infrastructure: When operators face regulatory pressure and license revocations, cost-cutting typically affects non-revenue generating areas first - customer service, server capacity, compliance staff. This creates a negative feedback loop where service quality deteriorates, leading to more complaints and potentially further regulatory scrutiny in other jurisdictions.

For players experiencing technical issues, your best recourse is documenting everything thoroughly. Screenshots, timestamps, transaction IDs, correspondence with support - all of this becomes crucial if you need to escalate through alternative dispute resolution channels.
The reality is that Stake's current operational model prioritizes growth in unregulated or lightly regulated markets over the premium service standards expected in mature gambling jurisdictions. Whether this strategy proves sustainable long-term remains to be seen.

Proper insightful I say. Makes sense why everything went tits up around march time. The EVerton thing is crazy tho - imagine if premier league clubs start getting prosecuted for their shirt sponsors. That would shake up football finances massively

honestly shocked how bad stake has gotten was about to sign up but sounds like a nightmare. any recommendations for alternatives?
mainly interested in live dealer games

@Kayah bitstarz and evolution gaming sites are much more reliable for live dealer stake used to be decent but too many horror stories lately. their customer support response times are absolute garbage now 5+ days for basic questions is unacceptable in 2025
